Work:
A. A. Milne & E. H. Shepard — "Winnie-the-Pooh" (1926)
Entered public domain:
2022
Scope:
The original 1926 book and Shepard illustrations entered the US public domain on Jan 1, 2022. Later Disney designs (the red-shirt Pooh) and the Tigger character's later appearances remain under separate protection.

The classic 1926 storybook bear of the Hundred Acre Wood.

The Hundred Acre Wood — a gentle English woodland of small, kind adventures.

A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh, drawn by E. H. Shepard in delicate pen-and-ink, is the original bear of very little brain and very large heart. In the Hundred Acre Wood, the adventures are small — a lost tail, a blustery day, a search for honey — and the feeling is enormous: friendship, gentleness, and the comfort of a familiar place.

This entry uses only the original 1926 storybook version — the soft Shepard linework, no red shirt, none of the later studio styling. It's here to show, live, what "this work's copyright has expired, so it's free to use" actually looks like in a clearance product.

Tone: Gentle, whimsical, nostalgic. Classic English nursery-book warmth.
